Marked Coins

Hey everyone, I'm fairly new to coin roll hunting and just started hunting halves in the past few months. I have noticed a significant amount of marked coins, around 50-60 per box, recently. I'm just wondering how many marked halves you all see when searching?

I don’t see nearly that many, but there’s usually a few in any given box.

I probably see around 10 per box.

You are downriver of someone's dumping. No way to avoid it but it never hurts to line up another pickup bank that uses a different courier service. If you are finding silver with the marked coins keep it all the way it is. One of my close to a dream boxes (70+ silver coins) came with about 50 marked coins so its not always a bad thing but it isn't ideal. Then again 99% of these coins have been searched time and again. They are like a river that carries the occasional silver coin to us. Without the river flowing we wouldn't ever get any silver. I have been on a dry spell for a few weeks. I can't explain the dry spell but just trying to wait through it. Its getting to be quite demoralizing but that's part of the game.

I think the majority of it is from one person as most of the marks were the same. I recently moved and I have met others that CRH while dumping at a local bank, as well as hearing from tellers that there are a lot of people asking for halves. All the banks I've been to so far are supplied by Brinks, so I may need to keep looking for more pickup banks, although I still have found some silver.
