May be old news to some.....

Probably not much but like you I want a smaller 5-6" coil but this would mean they are at least making more coil options for the Deus. Maybe they would then build us a 5" for super trashed areas.:icon_thumleft:

Have you used the 9" in trash??? WOW!! Love that coil!

No not yet Bart. I wonder if it would be substancial enough to warrant the price? The 11" does well and I guess if I were to hunt real trashy areas alot it might. I would love to try a 9" to see a side by side difference for sure.

It does indeed make a huge difference on a trashy site. When i speak of trash i mean iron beds and such but it should be similar in general trash. Thats why i would be super excited to see a 5 or 6 inch coil.

Also the small coil is SUPER SENSITIVE to really small stuff. Stuff so small you'll have to use a pinpointer lest spend your days looking for the proverbial needle in a haystack.

Agreed. I see no need in a smaller coil. The 9" is THAT good in trash.

I got this new site dating back solidly to the 1600s. One of these sites with a dump truck full of iron. If ever there was a place for a 5 or 6 inch coil this is it. This will be a good test for the CTX 3030 6" coil - no doubt. Once I beat the heck out of it with the 9" deus I'll put the 6" CTX to the test. We're gonna find out if the 6" CTX can find anything the 9" Deus cant.

Check the super old buckles I found over on the todays finds forum. Crazy old stuff. The 3rd buckle on the 2nd page may be the oldest relic I ever found. Looks medieval.

Let us know how the Deus with the 9" coil does indeed stack up to the formiable 6" CTX3030!

Then go back over it with the 9" XP from a 90 degree direction. I bet you find even more. No place is ever hunted out.
