Paid a couple hour visit to the park in town this afternoon...came up with some clad, and a ring. At first I thought the ring was costume, but when I got home and cleaned it up, I noticed some engraving / stamping on the inside, on the bottom part of the stone. I believe I see a "2" and a "5". Not for sure if it's silver or not. Please lend me your eyes, and let me know what you think. I weighed it on my scale, and it's a light one...only 2g. Thanks, happy hunting, and have a blessed evening! :icon_thumleft:

Yes , I'm 99.9 % confident that it is sterling silver (or .925) - I've been working as a silversmith,
(semi -pro) for 25 years - that looks quite right for sterling ! Argentium.

Awesome!! That's what I was hoping to hear!!!! Thank you very much! I'm going to have to take it to a jeweler and have them make the band round again...it's bent in a weird shape! This is silver #2!! Happy hunting!

Do you think a jeweler will be able to make the band round again?

Sweet find ! If you use a socket and a small hammer you can fix it yourself . I do this with all my damaged rings :headbang: .

Yep. I see the 925. Congrats on the silver.

Desertvet , If you do the repair yourself , please go get a small rawhide mallet at a hobby or
jewelers supply , so that you don't damage the silver . I do think you should invest in a tapered
ring mandrill as well ($20 bucks ) - since you are hooked on detecting silver rings, these tools
will pay for themselves many times over . I have been blessed to find about 120 silver rings
in city parks and athletic fields - and have had to reshape /repair a number of them with the
aforementioned tools . Argentium.

Thank you for the info! I'll be sure to do that soon!!! :icon_thumleft:
