Maybe WW2 relic?

Hello,

today I found this thing.

I really don't know what it is and would like to ask for some advice before I go into deeper cleaning.

The "thing" is approx. 1300g in weight.
Height: 11.8cm
Diameter (top) outer: 8cm
Diameter (top) inner: 6.5cm
Diameter bottom: hard to say.. approx. 4.5cm

If you look at image2 you can see on the top some kind of a heightening - something like a plate.
The hole inside is not going to the smaller end. image3 is showing the hole rounded.

Could this be a WW2 relic (maybe ammo?)
