I have been on a road trip with a good friend for the past 8 days. I did some research on a spot and it looked great on paper. I figured we should be able to get some silver. We showed up there after a hotel breakfast about 9 am and put on the small coils. We had hunted there the day before and knew it was an iron infested disaster. (That's another story)
We rehired the dirt we had hunted the day before. Right out of the box, I hit a 1918 Large cent. Then buddy popped a nice silver quarter and then 5 minutes later a silver dime. I answered with a silver quarter.
We alternated finds for a while and were emptying our trash bags every couple hours.
The site was full of nails. And the constant racket in the headphones began to take its toll on us. We were stuck at 9 silvers for what seemed like days.
We took a break to regroup, had a water, and buckled down for the last 3 hours.
JDogg rehunted a spot I thought I had hunted well.
Nope
Silver #10! He kept on the line and silver 11!!!
Frustrated, I walked a line jdogg had hunted. BOOM! Silver Dime! Now we had 12 for the day. Light was getting short, and we really wanted 13. I started digging anything that beeped.
Clad dime
Old penny
I got a signal at 8". BINGO!! Silver quarter! 13 silvers.
I didn't take a photo of the last quarter because it got dark.
Exhausted, but ecstatic!!!!
