Tried to get a headstart on Mayo this morninig, but took the clad route, one of my dirty mems revealed it was a '41 wheatie instead though so not a total clad shoot. And well, I found a metal manhood with a switch and battery contacts, in the dirt and looking old. No pics, thank me.

The heat and lack of sleep got to me early so we broke for Taco Bell where we were treated to a bag of freebies by the mgr on account of an argumentive cashier, cool!

We hit some cooler, shaded woods that were engulfed in spider webs. I got a pinch box right off, then a nice Wright Wood Dairy creamer intact. Mayo got a nice IH too! But the wearout was thourough and the Dammitol wasn't working on the bones too well today. Gonna be sore again...

I'll pic-up tomorrow with some of the recent botts also.

Sounds like a great hunt and freebies from TB is always awesome!!!!!

Some of this summer's glass works revealed! The small tin has something in it. I've found countless tins like this with watch parts, screws and springs and really want this one to open w/o destroying it so it may get an oil soak until spring, who knows. Any help appreciated!

Certainly the Manhattan Beverages bottle, with the apple's skyline embossed is not the oldest, but it's pretty cool thinks me. The Quick Seal Fruit jar is a bail wire type, the dark amber and bright green botts, no ideas but they look nice, small blue is pretty nice also. Root beer extract, "It Foams!" on the side, tall whiskey, yeah! Got a few still soaking also.

The horseshoes, find way too many out on the old trails around here, keep very few and not for long. Any rusty shoe collectors out there? I really like the old wheel hub with the remains of an old wood spoke still coming out of it. It's a fairly light-duty size so it should be from a riding wagon, not a working one.

Great finds, Tim!!!

All those bottles are great, but the greenie is real gorgeous in my opinion. Maybe it had lime juice in it or something. It is a definite showpiece in my book! :read2:

Does that tin rattle? You're a patient man. I would have forced that thing open in the field, probably the wrong thing to do.

I might be interested in four of those old horseshoes. I want to slip two each in Watercolor's and DP Bob's pouches to slow them down a little! ;D

Yeah we had started back at the other end of the South but after mostly mems (I did manage to pull out 5 wheats and probably 12 mems), we decided to head for the border where the order got messed up just enough to get Tims food reordered. TWICE. I felt obliged to help eat the excess...

We got to the nicely shaded woods and scoped out an old dump site complete with bottle shards, iron pieces and parts of old singer treadle sewing machines, and I found an old iron - the kind that had to be heated up in the stove or fireplace. Since it weighed about 15 pounds and had no handle, I left it there for posterity.

Several spider webs in the face later, I got a breaking signal near a small tree. Had I been in a more modern location I would have figured it to be a mem cent but knowing the age of this area I was hopeful something old was there, and hopefully not a crown cap. About 4 to 5 inches down was the sharp 1890 Indian Head. Like the previous Indian I found, I cleaned it with dish detergent and a soft toothbrush only. This turned out to be my only good find there but I was happy with it.

About half hour and 6 mosquito bites after that, I had a great signal near a creek, wedged in between some roots and gravel and dirt. The signal was at the top of a small overhang and I had to dig clear through to the underside before the ladies compact fell to the creek. It's missing the top cover piece but the two pieces opened right up after cleaning - the spring closure still had spring. I suspect the missing side had a mirror.

I think I found the religious medal on South Street. Weird how it looks like the mummy holding the baby Jesus. Gonna have to get back there and see if there's any more antiquities...

Hey Rich, long time no keys, good to hear from ya! The bones are getting sore quicker, but it's all good when something shiny pops out of the ground. Haven't been to the IGH lately so I don't know if Chiz is still diggin ground or in it yet.

Hey Mayo, got some sleep this afternoon, should be good to go at the site tomorrow morning and afternoon if you're interested. Remember we got some custom cutting gettin' done for us from that long-haired hombre that was taking pics of the work Saturday.

That religious medal still scares me!

Hey Tim, great finds! How about a better shot of that Wrightwood Dairy bottle??? Very interested.

Mayo, I love the spooky Jesus medal. Maybe Svengoolie dropped it during his hike in the woods...

Keep it boy's

great times await....then it ends with the construction done....so enjoy it and take advantage if it....

Great finds

Your medal is a " counterfeit " LOL

Two more wheaties this morning and extra clad. Turned my sense down to 2-3 then they started coming in much better. Hopefully a shiny this afternoon, if they get some more parkway cuts done by then.

Great looking glass Tim! Surprised I don't find any with all the
backwoods places I go to.

My only cool one is fairly common.. an Edison 3oz. battery oil. Found at most old rural battery
operated RR crossings.

Nice finds guys, you sure had a nice day for it. I've never seen so many damn spiders out in the woods like I have this year.
I even got a nice thick chunk of web in my mouth. That sure slowed my sweep speed down. ;D
