medal and button

an american medal called the National Defense medal that was awarded to those that served in conflicts such as the Korean War to the present. the button, i have no clue as to its origins, but it seems to have a anchor as its emblem.

The National Defense Service Medal is awarded to members of the military who serve during a designated conflict, mine is from the Vietnam era, and the fine folks in the military now are earning it for the war on terrorism. Nice finds...
