These medals appear to have first been struck in 1797, but were also reminted at least once in the 1850's. They were minted to commemorate Washington's resignation at the end of his second term. Thanks for your help, it said the first issue was used as the model for the halliday, Baker 70 medal, and mine says halliday on it but I cant find a pic or info on the baker 70 Halliday medal any help finding a site would be appreciated thanks again.
That Washington medal by Halliday also was minted in 34mm and 29mm diameters according to the American Journal of Numismatics, and Bulletin of American Numismatic and Archæological Societies
