First time out this spring lawns are frost free but the woods still have enough frost so you cant dig. So got permission last fall to hunt this lawn of a house that use to be a hotel back in the early 1900's. The house was built in 1845 I think. Anyway the mercury dime is a 1920 in real good condition, the v nickel is 1900, and the indian head I beleive is 1905. These indian heads up here on the coast really take a beating. Hope to get back there on Sunday. Thanks for looking. And good luck to you all. :)

mainer,

Nice coins, Your one day out with frozen ground is better than my 10-12 hrs in the last 3 weeks.(2 indians and a bunch of junk)

Smartin

Great trio of coins there Mainer.Looks like it should be a pretty productive site.
I hope you make some more great finds on your return trip Sunday. HH!

Awesome finds!!

Look forward to your next post!

Nana ;)

Thank you everyone and good luck to all of you. I'll keep you posted. :)

mainer,

Nice going!
I'd take an indian head in ANY condition at this point >:(
Maybe this year...i hope...i hope...i hope
Coast of maine....LOVE IT!
Good luck and happy hunting,
Ashleen

Very nice!!! You might want to re-check the hole that the Indian head came out of. It kind of looks like something else has super imposed it's image on it.
Any old Canadian coinage with Polar Bears on it? HH

Hey Ashleen this is your year keep your head up. RVB No polar bear coins, Ive scene some of the indians on this forum I wish they looked like that around here, Most of them you cant get a clear date off of. But I'll take them anyday. Keep the coil to the soil.

Great coins...sounds like a nice site...hope to see more .....Joe

I see what you mean about the ground being rough on Indian heads. You can hardly tell what it is! That merc sure looks good, though.
HH,
Bob

Wow, nice finds, LOve those indian's and mercury's, and you can't
beat a V nickel.

I hope you didn't try to clean the indian or the v-nickel, I know here in
Ohio that they really turn to crap when you try to clean them. I guess it's the
ferterlizer that is in the soil. Someday you'll find one in sandy soil and it will
look great.

HH, Ringfinder

Hey ringfinder, I think up here its from the salt air/water. Thats my opinion on why they look so bad. But good news beleive it or not I did get a date off that indian its 1865 my oldest indian that I know of, cant get the dates off some. Good luck :)

Congrats on the silver and old! Nice finds and HH, Mike
