So I met up with OldDude today and we hit a super old house that hes been working on, real nice property with lots of yard to cover, but boy today was hot!!, we did our best to scrounge up some goods, I managed one wheat and this cool girlscouts pin!. 6.webp7.webp and this keychain 3.webpafter that we decided to do some door knocking right down the street from where we were. This was one of my easier permissions I must say. A home health aid answered the door and then asked the owner who granted us permission. Almost right away I hit a wheat and thought "game on", so I kept gridding along and popped a few more wheats then this nice 44S war nickel!,war.webp Silver #29 on the year:headbang:. Kept gridding and managed a few more wheats and this ornate looking thing that has a bolt on bottom and can be screwed into something. 4.webpAlso got a key, a watchfob, a spacer, and a couple other odds and ends before we got rained out. I think I possibly have a steel cent here because it was in a hole with a small wheat spill 5.webp I wont ruin it for OldDude but I will tell ya, he crushed my silver count for the day!!, today was a fun hunt, cant wait to do It again!! Thanks for looking and HH!!

Looks like a great hunt. Didn't realize that you and OldDude where neighbors. Kewl.

Good hunt with a good hunting buddy makes for an extra special day. Glad the two of you had some nice finds.

Thanks, yeah we had a good time.
We're not quite neighbors though, about 25 miles apart

I had a great hunt! I think I may have talked too much though. Cjon started out with no headphones, but then started using them so he didn't have to listen to my stories, lol! Thanks for an awesome day, humidity and all.

Yeah, I'd say a very successful hunt! Not only all those relics but a bit of companionship and maybe a new lead.

Excellent day!

Very cool to see members sharing there sites and joining up for hunts. Great job guys. Looks like a great day

yeah abe It was fun having someone to share the excitement with when the goods are in the plug, although my plugs were a bit less exciting as old dudes today, lol

Pfffffft. You have some awesome relics. Your reaction to the "C" S piece was classical. As much as my "LC" gear, lol!

hey, confederate states, girl scouts.........close enough:laughing7:

I still believe you have a reins guide. Post it in What Is It.

Yeah I'm gonna, hope u r right

Have been googling this morning, lol. I am pretty certain it is a guide. Also found out what these were for~

They were just "ties" added to brick walls to strengthen and tie the courses together. I saw online some that were "X" shaped as well.

Ahh that makes sense. I want to detect today but bday parties n shopping w the wife for house stuff took precedence lol. the weather this morning is much better for it too

I think this may be a reins guide as it looks to be made of brass, although it might be a bit small? :icon_scratch:
Most likely a handle from a box or trunk.

Nice digs,
Dave

This "old dude" was a little sore this morning, lol. That humidity really zapped me, but absolutely was worth it!

I do my sleeping whilst walking around. Easier that way. ;)

I just set my ATP alarm clock to gold and it wakes me up. ;)
