Metal Detecting of FL Beaches - Is It Still LEGAL?

Question: Is it still legal to metal detect on Florida beaches? I'm mainly interested in the East/Treasure Coast beaches.

If it IS.. what if you happened to find say.. a clump of silver coins? Are you the 100% legal owner or do you have to share it ALL or SOME with the state?

Can anyone give their input, experience (good or bad)?

dont think there are any clumps on the dry sand
after big storms singles turn up

It’s still legal to hunt the wet sand and dry sand on the treasure coast ( Sabastion Fl to about Jupiter Fl) they say if caught in the water you can get arrested fined and lose your detector , I’m not sure of that .
