The birdpoint was tiny. I can't believe I even saw it that day.
It was about 25 degrees when we started, but the frost was just starting to melt when I found it.
Ironically, I had found an IH penny earlier, but had left it in the truck so I had to use Abe. :-\

The iron was a 4 inch hunk of a 12 pound Bormann shell. I found it about 40 feet from where I had found my whole 6 pound Bormann. By the way it was situated in the ground and the "tink" it gave off as I hit it with the shovel, I was sure it was complete.

I hollered at my buddy to come have a look (and take pics) and to have him dig it up as he had never dug a complete shell. But alas, it was only a large frag.
