Well, they are clues about the activity going on there. Worth further investigating I reckon at least. Welcome to the T-net. I hope you find some old coinage and cool relics in that spot.
 

Not sure what you have, but I like the thought process. I love old forest trails and wilderness roads.
 

My favorite is what appears to be an old knife blade.

The threaded bolt with the eye on the end is a shackle pin. The gray finish is galvanization. Welcome to Tnet
 

Here's the last few items I found later in the afternoon. Sure wish they were coins instead! 😉
