Will it hurt a coil in any way if the detector is stored short term with the coil sitting flat on concrete? I am bad to stand mine in the corner of the garage when I return from hunting. An old wives tale was not to store a car battery on concrete as it would drain the charge. How that was possible, I don't know. I have never seen storage discussed anywhere and was just curious.

BTW, new to the forum. I have been reading the forum for a while, but this is my first post. There are a lot of great things going on here by a lot of great people. I love it. Thanks.

From what I have read it is not good to store your detector in the cold. So I keep all of mine in the house. Plus let me welcome you to Tnet. Hope to see some of your finds posted here soon......Matt

I would keep mine in the house, too. Just remove the batteries if it is going to be very long.
