nothing special, we found these while hiking some foot hills, close to a military res. first thing that came to mind was parts of a engine like cylinders, but there were no trails for the vehicles, and they were too spread apart, these were all found in about 300 yard area, no other items just these surface finds. you can see a triangle and some very small holes that do not go through them, i pointed out with red arrows. let me know your ideas

Are the holes thru the center octagon-shape? If so, I think they're rollers off a conveyor.

Smitty may be right.

How many did you find?

Here's a guess... They are the top part of antipersonnel cluster bomblets. Small holes would be attaching points for drag vanes or declerators.

Only reason I'd "guessed" what I did, was a couple years ago I needed a few pieces of rod, but rebar was too soft. I found a pile of octagon (may have been hexagon) shaped shafts. I asked the yard owner what they were & he said they were roller-shafts from a conveyor.

I think a scale weight is slotted so it can be added or removed from the hanger.

Looks like a pully for something to run a belt on. It looks like it has a grooved edge which would be used to hold a belt in-line as it turned.
Almost looks like a tensioner pully on modern cars.

I almost thought an older cam shaft pully which used to have the timing mark on it...the triangle on yours, but as I recall, most of those had just a hash mark....and yours looks too small.

But.....I think a pully none-the-less.

the holes are not hexagonal, round and go all the way through. that was a thought of mine, maybe cluster bomb pieces, and we found 3.

Just my 2 cents but all of the cluster bombs i handled and destroyed due to age in the US air force in the early 80`s had no resemblance.
