THIS SPOON WAS FOUND ON THE BEACH IN CHARLESTOWN RHODE ISLAND ABOUT 25 YEARS AGO BY MY FATHER INLAW. I FOUND IT AMOUNG HIS CAMPING GEAR. IT WAS BLACK WHEN I FOUND IT I CLEANED IT UP AND YOU CAN SEE VERY FAINTLY MAKERS MARKS BUT CAN'T READ WHAT THEY ARE.

Get a magnifying glass and you should be able to see the makers marks. This will tell you whether or not it's plated. It looks like solid silver to me!

pretty cool hope you figure it out

Ewww,

Don't lick coins they are the dirtest thing people own.... It looks silver to me, if it cleaned up like that then yea I'd say silver. They do have some home tests you can do other than lick it, just do a google search. You can use a match your finger and vinegar to test if its real. Search google on how exactly, but I don't think you have to I am 80% sure that is sterling.

Keep @ it and HH!!
