Micro Tools???

I have been looking for small pieces of Obsidian to make my wife a pair of earrings and have been finding a lot of small pieces like this do you think they are some kind of Micro Drill,tools seem to have a lot of tooling on them. Sorry for the poor pictures I post up better ones later.
