Middle East (Middle Earth?) button?

Never seen images quite like this on a button. Looks like something Frodo or Bilbo would have on their tunics. Brass, about the size of a dime. The shank is intact, so probably not old. Anybody venture a guess? Thanks.

My guess is 1950's or 60's fashion button. But I've been way off before...
