Yesterday I went back to the oyster shell tell when I saw a balloon about a 100 yards away. I thought I better go get that trash and take it out. Well I picked a can up slinging the Garett all the way. More trash. Has to go.Then it happens. I find my first whole horseshoe. Ok this is now a midterm birthday so I start swinging. The Garett presents me with a dandy button and a pocket knife. Well I thought right then I was in a midterm birthday. But the one more sweep that have we all do. You know just one more and I believe I dug my first hole coin and Spanish reale. That was ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1519957071.626270.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1519957116.284805.webpbirthday. I dug that and went home for a midterm birthday drink.

Um, wow! Where are the comments on this? You found a reale? Heck of a dig, we only dream of things like that out west. Keep it up!

Nice job on the Spanish silver. I live in Illinois, and have only managed to find one Spanish silver Half Reale. Congrats.

Congratulations on the nice Reale! :occasion14:

Couldn't ask for a better midterm birthday!!!! Congrats :hello2:

Nice finds. I once found a balloon that had been part of a school class project balloon release. It had a kids name and address from a school about 120 miles away. I got him a state map, County map, a USC&GS quad map and an aerial photo to mark the spot where it was found (I was working at a coal mine in the Engineering Dept. so had access to all the above except a state map I got at a gas station). Packed it all up and shipped it to him. I never heard a word from him. I didn't figure his had gone the furthest but I bet he got the best description of where the balloons went. Good luck.
