Military Badge

Hi,
I found this a few weeks ago.
It seemed to give me my first bit of luck in a long time, so I polished it up and decided to make it into a pendant.

After a bit of old interwebs, I realised it was military, and something to do with "wireless operators" but I have not been able to find an exact match or a definitive answer.

It was found in Australia.

Could you show (or describe) the back, as the fastener type might help. And any markings on it? And the size?

I find more stuff by selecting search results using "images" - I seldom have success sticking with the normal text results but find a bunch of stuff via images.

The back is flat, you can see two small solder marks where the fastener would have been
