I dug this item at a very old park last month. It seems to be made of brass and it's folded over on each end. If the folds were straightened out it would form a nice letter "C". It appears to be well made and military type manufacture. I was thinking that it might be an insignia for headgear.
The size is about the size of a silver dollar or slightly smaller. I should have pictured it next to a coin for scale. Any opinions would be appreciated.

I agree it's a pin, but don't think it'smilitary, or part of a military insignia. If you straightened it out (which I don't expect you to do, but if you did) would it look like the letter "C"?

It's potentially a "letter" or "initial" pin or brooch.

Thanks for the response Jim. Yes, as I said in the post, if it was straightened out it would definately form a nice letter "C".
