Milk Glass?

I dug this today and have no idea what it was used for. The "glass" is similar to those Boyd's caps for mason jars and the metal is zinc, maybe? Any ideas of a time period or what the thing is would be great. Thanks in advance, :headbang: Dig On!

Agree with bluehunter - cosmetic Jar.....for cold cream, rouge, etc.

Here are a couple of links on milk glass. Not sure how we can narrow down the age without some markings or finding a particular maker with that pattern.
