Minelab Explorer XS Charger

I just bought a used Minelab Explorer XS, but it didnt have the home charger for the batteries. Can I find some kind of generic substitute charger for the batteries, or do I need the specific one that originally came with the metal detector?

Yes, you could go to a Walmart or a Radio Shack and buy a "universal" battery charger with different output voltages and many different sizes of plugs ($10 - 15). Even if the MA output is a littlle higher, the battery pack will not charge any faster as they have a current limiter built into the pack.
