Minelab GP300 vs Minelab Extreme

I have the chance to purchas a Minelab Extreme for $2,000.
What do your think? Is this a good deal?
The Extreme has been discuntinued & replaced by the GP3000.
Anyone know the differences?

Mate I'm new to Gold Detecting as well and did get a GB1 and now I which that I had of done my homework first never the less I will keep it as a back up ...

as for me I've started to save up for the GP3000 but I must say I would like to get the GP3500 buts its to Pricey $$$$
