It is a very good versatile machine. As a mid level machine, it's packed with a lot of features that higher end machines have, auto nc, auto gb, threshold, backlight, just to name a few. Also allows frequency changes by using different coils.

I've had my X-70 for almost 3 years. IMHO it's a great machine and so very versatile. The sound it gives on a silver coin is sweeeeet. PM sent.

The X-705 is an excellent detector. Great target separation, excellent depth of detection, lightweight and well balanced, great notch discrimination capabilities, choice of manual GB, Automatic GB, Tracking, Beach tracking, Auto Noise Cancel, separate volume adjustments for use with or without headphones,and some other features that none of the other detectors have....... tracking GB offset, choice of operating at one of three frequencies by simply changing the coil, and VFLEX technology. Some European dealers sell the 705 with the 10.5 DD coil. Most dealers in the US sell the 705 with the stock 9-inch concentric at 7.5 kHz. The X-TERRA 705 Gold series is an X-TERRA 705 equipped with the elliptical coil as the stock coil. There were no changes made to the 705, other than the coil used as "stock". If you look at the pictures below, from recently featured W&E Articles, you'll see the 1877 Indian Cent I found last fall, with my X-TERRA 705. HH Randy
