Note: This Detector came straight from Minelab and not from Mikes Shop! I did not make that clear in the post and wanted to get this straight from the first. It was sent the way it was , one because I needed it quickly and I was so far from his shop.
To start this off I had ordered a new Minelab Detector from Mike at 4-H , well when I got it it was damaged right out of the box. This looks to be shipping damage as it is.
As I was assembling the detector I was in the process of picking up the Control head , the part with the LCD for the ones that are new, the part with all the buttons.
Anyway when I lifted it out of the box I heard a very loud rattle and could feel something dropping around inside the Unit. Well that can not be good I thought to myself.
Well I got on the phone with Mike late in the afternoon and he started the process of getting it replaced .
The next morning I got a call from Mike having me call Minelab to get this going as I have to leave very quickly this week. I had to postpone my leaving at the first of the week so I could receive my unit in the mail. Well I got the unit quickly as you see. But having the unit damaged kinda put a hold on things.
As it is Minelab called me back and had made arrangements for helping me with this problem , they got it setup were as I am shipping the damaged one back and they are overnight shipping a brand new one to me so it will be here in time for me to take it when I leave.
If they had not done this it would have taken me weeks to be able to get my Detector to me.
Now as it stands I will get my detector in time for me to leave and have it to use. This is great for me anyway !
I have to say that Minelab did everything they could to make sure that Me the customer was happy and got what I needed in time.
And this just took a few phone calls back and forth to each other to get this done.
I had read in the past were they had some issues with support , well I can say that they seem to have gotten that cleared up as they did get this going and did do what it took to get this done.
Also Mike was on top of this and helping move them along , and did this while moving to his new place.
Now I do not know about the rest of you but that is great service ! This is one many reasons that you need to call Mike if you want to buy a detector. You get the personal service after the sale . And in today's world that means a whole lot. And I got the same personal service from Minelab also .
Also I want to make it clear that you could not hear the part moving around while the detector was in the box, I could only hear it after I started to assemble the parts.
It seems some are thinking that it was sent out and no one checked a sound in the box. There was no way anyone could hear that in the shipping box. At least I could not.
New Data for today.
I got the package today and all was well , and I have to say that Minelab went above and beyond getting this to me and helping me get what I needed and quickly.
They do have great service .
Do not be afraid to order from Mike , you will be happy you did no matter what the outcome is when you order.
And this Minelab Detector is really awesome , I can't hardly believe how much better it is over the old models I used , they were from an other company but this X-Terra 705 really stands out !
I wanted to post this about what happened because so many times the good side does not get posted, and mostly because people are happy and going along with what ever it was they were going to do in the first place .
But I can say Minelab did do what it took and so did Mike .
