Hi again: I am worried about the availability of the minor coil. I am having many problems with the 11-inch loop that comes with it. I can't stand it. I never was a fan of big loops because of the various objects to dispatch at one time under it. I have had up to five at once, and believe me, it's a mess. Can I purchase the small coil yet? When and where? I can't operate Manticore any further without it. I have been using my 800 until now. Thanks again "LP"

The coils are DD coils and the only part that detects is the strip down the middle, they do not see things in the whole circle. If there are multiple targets simply turn and sweep at 90 degrees and they will show separately. I myself prefer an 8" coil, hate the little 6" coils. You sound like you just need to practice and learn your machine better.

I'm with you on the small coil thing if a coil is larger than 9" it's too big.
I think back in the day the 8" coils on the Fisher CZ's got me started with that

Run the swing speed at 4 then adjust your swing to where you can hear every targets tone. When there's a lot of targets go real slow when it's quiet go faster. It separates so well, you will be able to hear each tone clearly.
