I found this button a while back near some antique shops close to New Hope, PA. I assumed that it came off a coat, but as time went on I began to wonder that with all of the antique shops in the area, maybe it was dropped by someone who had recently purchased it. Then I found a colonial era fashion button last week, and I saw a lot of similarities. I am posting both for comparison.

I am still leaning toward modern, because the eye is not embedded. It appears to be part of the casting process. Any experts out there?
