This is a "Modoc" bowl from the Tule Lake area of CA,
I tried for several years to buy it, but was not able to until
the lady passed away, & her daughter sold it to me, it sat in
her flower bed for years, it was brought to OK many years
ago.
It is made from lava rock, & was probably used for grinding
acorns or corn, it is about two feet tall.
This area of CA, had one of the last Indian battles, Capt
Jack, was their leader, they were finally starved out of the
"Lava beds" & surrendered.
