The coast of NC is called the Graveyard of the Atlantic for good reason. Who knows how many ships went down in storms and where the bulk of the cargo is. It's a veritable goldmine out there if you had the money, time and equipment to find it!

It can get rough enough to make you mentally seasick just thinking about it if you've ever been there and witnessed it.

The SS Central America was salvaged by Odyssey Marine in 2014 and most of the coins and artifacts recovered.
