Went back out to the colonial fields that produced the nice shoe buckle from the other day. Hoped that it would have rained more but the fields were still quite dry. Had to dig every iffy tone but the finds were there. Plenty of tombac buttons, early buckle chapes with a makers mark of "C T", and 2 very nice 17th century nipple buttons. They increase my total found in the state to 18. They are very hard to come by, and read below tombac button range. These fields are heavily bird hunted and the shotgun shells were not in short supply :BangHead:. Will definitely be returning again after a good soaking. The iron patch was found and there has to be more goodies being masked by the iron and super dry conditions. My last signal of the day I thought was a button but it appears there is enough on it to ID as possibly an early 1700s 1/4 Kopek? Thoughts?

Thanks for sharing!

Congrats on the finds, especially the nipple buttons. I think those are the first ones posted since I found one back in early spring. Definitely not an easy find.

Congrats on some great finds. I like it all ( except the shotgun shells ) !

Very nice assortment of old finds congrats

That's an excellent assortment of early 18th century/late 17th century finds Jim. Looks like you're still sorting through a bunch of junk so I can't wait to see what else emerges once that layer is removed. Love the Kopeck!

Your site is delivering the goods! Keep it up!

Those are some nice finds! The dreaded shotgun shell..Ughhh...Just imagine in a 100 years guys might be really happy to dig those up..lol Lucky them!

Shotgun butts or not, that's some great history your digging!!

What is that button in the 1st picture, top left. Looks Tudor, but can't be, can it?

Cuff sized, blowhole button. We find them quite frequently here in NJ.

That's a nice assortment of old relics and coins.
Keep em coming

The one I found is not in good shape at all. I used that picture as a reference of what it could be. Its very thin, holed and barely identifiable.

Oh ok. Either way a neat find, you have to wonder how it got to NJ.
