Two consecutive hunts yield more silver among the wheats ears.

Hit the park this morning and also Saturday AM. Each hunt yielded some wheats and silver. Saturday it was 4 wheats and a sterling cross. Today it came in the form of 2 war nickels and a merc, along with 7 wheats. Which of all the coins do you think I nicked with the shovel? That's right....the 1917 Merc! :BangHead:

Two great hunts with silver to show on both, Awseome!!

Nice! I haven't found a war nickel in a loong time.

Thanks deershed! Didn't want to leave today; got into a little hotspot there at the end. That's when the two war nickels showed up.

Great finds. Thank you for sharing. Sorry about the merc.

Congrats on the silver and other finds

You may as well take up residency at that park, I'd have to think about gridding that place. Congrats on pulling more keepers form the public space. I think I need to visit Baltimore in the future.

Funny how those Mercs seem to find their way to the shovel, but congrats!

Thanks Tommy G! Merc was definitely in the sidewall. That's happened a number of times.

Thanks L-D! There are a couple guys in the club who live by Patterson Park; that's the one we were shut out of this year. On my Saturday AM hunt I hit it early and not long after I started another club member came over to say "Hey". I really like have someone there to talk with during the hunt. Everybody comes away with a little something. I'll let you know how my newest "hot Spot" pans out.

Thanks Art! Sure was sweet to score some silver again!

Thanks tomhighland! Yes, I was concerned about the scratch more because I saw that the date started with '191?' and I was hoping that I wasn't holding a 1916D, which I wasn't, much to my relief!

Thanks J. Cache! Same here. It had been a number of months since I'd dug a War Nick and now they're popping out of the ground for me.

Those are some nice finds. I brutally stabbed a silver tiffany ring or it was hit by a lawn mower or something I think it was me. Something to learn from. Great job!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Tommy! Think I'll take the advice that was shared at our last club meeting: once you've pinpointed the target, put a golf tee where you locate center; this give you a reference for digging the plug. I retrospect, my plug was too small and probably not centered to the target.
