My boy and I made another trip to our new site we found a couple weeks ago. We've been hitting it hard and things are starting to slow down now.
Today the boy's girlfriend went along and had the boy's metal detector most the day.I think she found a couple bullets,3 round balls and a couple buttons. No pics of her finds.
The boy digging holes for his girlfriend most the day managed to find a 1826 Large Cent.

The mystery piece looks like a lead concrete screw anchor.

Great finds Deer! Thanks for sharing...

Sorry to have to disappoint, but the mystery object is definitely not an artillery fuze, though it does kinda-sorta resemble one. The screw-threading on it is very wide-spaced and "coarse," which is a form used for screwing into wood or other semi-soft material, not a hard metal like a shell's cast-iron body. Also, fuzes do not have wrench-slots on the "inside" of the fuze's lip.

Barrel cleaner? Just a guess if it's the diameter of a ball or something...

Nice finds!
I think Pointman is right, it's a screw anchor.

Thanks for the input guys!! Maybe on another hunt I'll pull out an artillery fuse? It was still cool finding it and thinking I found something special.
I still have my quarter to fall back on.lol It was found in the back corner of the property where it was brushy and full of cans and trash laying everywhere.
I tried getting the kid to go back there on more then one occasion and check it out with me.He kept finding excuses why not to go back there. Finally on our last hunt there he turned me down again so I went by myself.
I was back there fighting the brush and all the trash hits for about 20 mins. when I found the 37 Washington.
When I showed the boy what I found he said,I knew that was gonna happen b/c I didn't go, you'd find something nice!!lol
