Well, if you've seen any of my last dozen or so posts, you can tell that I love detecting campgrounds. The older the better!
Last Friday I hit a new campground that I had never been to before. Man, there was old junk everywhere, including the remains of old cabins that have completely fallen apart over the years. I spent about 4 hours there, and was actually pretty shocked at how few coins I found. I did manage one silver quarter on that trip. Here are the results of this new old campground from Friday...
Yep, that's my eagle buckle. Sorry if I had you thinking it was something a little better
And here's everything all cleaned up...
This Wikies surf belt buckle is from the 1930's as best I can tell from online research...
All in all, it was still a fun day exploring a new campground area. I will definitely go back again as I believe there is a ton of treasure there - I just need to concentrate on certain areas and try to avoid all of the metal junk lying around both on top of and just under the surface.
Happy Hunting!
