More Cool Variety for the 1900's to 1930's

Hello All. Went to my new favorite site on Turkey Day, a 1910 long gone homestead with about an acre to hunt. Found somemore great stuff for our cooolllection:

Misc hardware including a clock or toy key
Ammo
Various buttons
Old Gillette Razor
Silverplate spoon piece
Tent slips and gromets
Fishing gear
A few Whatzits
Michiline Tire Piece
Two cool rouge compacts
A great copper or brass heart buckle
Small Grat Seal button (Kenyon back mark)
1915 and 1940 wheaties
1936 buffalo
1901 indian head

I'm stoked. Happy Hunting to all.

Those are some awesome finds! Love the heart buckle, the wheaties, and especially the makeup compacts! They'll make a great addition to your collection!

Hello Vicky. Thanks for the reply. This was one of my best hunts to date, good luck and HH.

Very nice stuff. Have any idea what age heart buckle is. Found one identicle to it a few weeks back In one of our older parks

Hi -- Nice assortment of finds there. You just solved a mystery for me (with the tent slip)--I found one last year, had no idea what it was. What exactly are they and what are they used for? Any idea on timeframe? Thanks!

really cool finds!

Hello Eric. Took me awhile to figure these out, I finally saw one while surfing old posts. Attached is the patent. Thanks for the reply and HH.

Sorry not a patent, attached was the government spec. These were used for tensioning tent lines

Thanks for posting the spec C9! Do you think they were exclusive to the military or used on civilian tents too? I have found my share of grommets too at different sites--which I now assume were also tent related. I wasn't sure if they were from tarps or what. I suppose tents makes the most sense. Thanks again.

Hello Eric. I don't know if this was strictly a military item. I am guessing that these were used by civilians too because I have found them at two non-military sites, a 1920's curb strip and a 1910 home site.

Thanks for the reply.
