This may seem a little rude but I would like to understand those that keep these things :icon_scratch: ;

'remnants of a harmonica' - I find tons of these in the fields I hunt & although being in a possible CW Camp might make it related to a bored soldier playing a tune, they must have been used by farm folk & even people walking in the country side. They used to believe it kept away evil spirits whilst trying to make a safe journey (in the dangerous outdoors). I guess what I'm saying is, it could be before or after the CW & nothing to do with it. Its like those toe taps...

I could understand it better if it were nearly complete, but I guess I'm used to drawing the line from a different perspective (my house would be filled by now with stuff like it) :-\

Civil war enthusiast's want ANY thing relative to our Civil War here in the States. Any relics associated, are highly sought after. As well as the American Revolutionary War.

I guess this is my point, where there is a high demand in the market & prices are high, associations are made with everyday civilian objects. I guess those that what to believe & dumb enough to pay out good money on potential false hope, have a right to. Personally it would have to of come from a known fire pit (for example) dated by archaeological layers, ie a sealed context because ~I wouldn't paid a dime for any everyday items which may or may not have been used during the civil war. Otherwise there are plenty of examples of cheap items on UK ebay which you could triple your money on.
