Short hunt early Friday AM, at a cellar hole that dates at least to Civil War, found some 'goodies'. My favorites are the two flat buttons and one fastener, the toe tap, and the thimble with remains of thread. Thimble is Victorian era and reads "Reward for Merit".

Very sweet finds- Congrats!

My type of typical handful, you never know when the next signal will be a significant relic or coin at those sites. Keep it up and congrats!

What's that turtle-looking thing to the left of the buttons?

I've seen my grandmothers thimbles with needle holes in them. Ouch! makes me draw up every time I think about it.
