I got out to my field again and found a merc, a very old pewter button, 2 other buttons, coin purse clasp- no coins. I checked all around. shoe buckle fragment, thimble, and some buckles. The strangest item I have found is the first picture here. It reminds me of a watch winder, but the top piece is made to move. It has a rock/stone in the middle that spins around. The top part with the hole in it also swivels. Any ideas? Very intriguing..

Dunno what that is, but it's neat. My bet it has something to do with threading, weaving, or sewing.
