I planted some sunflowers late in the season.. The first one began to open this morning, so I waited with the camera in the morning light to see if the humming birds liked it. Apparently they do.

They're still working on the sweet peas too.

Those are some of my favorite pics from you! Great photos:icon_thumright:. Now I am going to have to sit out waiting for some here:laughing7:

Those are fantastic. Still non have come to my feeder. I hear them, but they don't stop by.

Thanks Grant, If I was planning on being here all the time, I would have put out feeders. fyrffytr1 said he plants something called "Black and Blue Salvia" for the hummingbirds. He said when it's in bloom, the hummingbirds ignore his feeders. I had to google it to see what it is. I found some seeds on amazon, and might try planting some next spring.

Thanks OD, where these flowers are located, I only have about an hour of good light in the morning to try to capture them. You just have to be ready when they show up because they don't stay for long........Don't know how many times I've missed some opportunities while looking down at my review screen on the camera. Just taking test shots out of boredom to make sure exposure is correct, or just looking down to see what a flower, leaf or whatever looks like in the viewing screen, then hear the hummers wings, and I still have my glasses on, and he disappears before I can get into action again.

It's so much better to photo them with a natural flower over a feeder. I put the feeder out to see if any come by and I can watch them through the window. It's very rare that I seem them around here and when I do it's towards the end of summer, but like I said I am hearing them tweet by moving along pretty fast.

I've got a bunch of them coming to feeders. I'd like to plant some of those black and blue flowers, so I'll be googling for seeds.

Cool shots! I believe the flowers in the last two photo's is a Sweet Pea vine.

Yes they are sweet peas. They grow all over western Oregon, but don't see many here in north central Idaho. This one is inside the garden fence. Maybe I don't see so many others around is because the deer like them, and we have lots of deer around.
