After starting my day at Point Lookout Beach, I was unable to metal detect because they were doing beach sand replenishment. So I decided to go to Long Beach because it was farther down the line from where I was and I've found a few silver coins from there before. Well, they must have just finished replenishing the sand on that beach. It was full and flat from the machines spreading it out. Plus, I tried detecting but was getting no signals at all. The sand was devoid of all junk. So I packed up and moved to Jones Beach. It was already 11:00 and the wind was howling. With the wind and sand in my face, I gritted out 6 1/2 hours in the very cold air. I wound up with $8.92 in clad and a Standing Liberty Quarter(no date) and I went home very tired but satisfied.
