Had cabin fever and had to get out today. The roads to places I had in mind were still blocked with snow. I went down to about the 3000 ft. elevation to get almost out of the snow.

Ayway here are some pictures. Would have stayed longer but I managed to slip off a rock and fill one shoe and half a pants leg with ice water.

This is one of the streams that become the south fork of the Umpqua river.

Very nice! complements on the photography. Old digger.

Nice pictures, the Umpqua sure looks different there than when if was flowing through our yard and almost into the house many years ago.

Nice pics as usual ron. That looks like it would be a good area for mushroom gathering during the right time of year.

Dang Ron,You sure do live in some pretty country now!! Does that crik maintain a water level all year?Sure looks like some nice brookie water! God Bless Chris

Yes it is a prime location for Chanterell's, Hedgehogs, Boletes and others.

Thanks PB,

Yes it runs year around. There is a big beautiful waterfall about a half mile upstream. I was too lazy to walk up the steep hill in the wet snow to get a picture this time.

Thanks Chris and Everyone,

Ron

Great pictures! What filters and how long was the exposure time, ISO, F stop?

I used a hoya circular polarizer filter on these, mainly to slow the shutter speed. ( Sort of like a neutral density filter. )

Put the camera on a tripod bracketed for three 1 stop exposures for each picture. (Also use cameras timer for shutter release.)

F/16, ISO 100 for about a 1 second shutter speed for the slowest of three shots. Not sure what the other 2 were.

Combined three images for each picture in photomatix.

Thanks again ALL,

Ron

Where did you get the snow from :tongue3:
