Muscatine/Louisa Counties 1904

$30k in gold & silver coins were robbed from a train near Columbus Junction in 1904. In 1934, a man, digging a septic tank, near Letts, IA found $10k. It is believed to be from the robbery. The remainder is believed to be undiscovered; most likely between Letts & Columbus Jct

Note: not ALL discovered wealth is reported. There are/were some wealthy folks in that area…(?)
