MXT 12x15" SEF Coil, Dose it again !!
Hello,
Went to hunt the old hunted out Hotel site today.
Started out ruff and hot about 1-2 hrs into the hunt found a few wheat's. 
Later hunted the area we pounded hard and found silver hidden way down under some roots. 
Maybe about 7 inches down found a lump of dirt with a silver edge. 
It gave a faint silver whisper jumping around from 80-82 to 74-78 so penny dime range, on the MXT. The dirt was well caked on so had to wait to clean it up at home. 
I was hoping for another seated but it cleaned up bad under cold water. 
However we could tell it was a Merc it was still badly corroded with black tar like stuff and some scum. 
Sooooo..... I zapped it !! Heh, 
in the electrolysis bath it fried it but it cleaned up nicer than it was. 
Here are some before, during and after pictures I hope you like them !!

When it comes to frying coins. You have to choose wisely. 
I could not clean it with a brush it would not clean any more than in the dirty pic and it looked very ugly to me. 
I think the pitting was on there before I zapped it like you said.
