I have a article specifically on this subject Steve's Guide to White's Electronics GMT versus MXT

I could not agree more, Steve. The MXT is a very awesome machine and the best that I have found that Whites has produced. I found many .2 to .4 gram pickers, many gold rings and earrings from salt water beaches in FL and AL ( It works great in salt water and salt sand.) and, I have found many rare coins in parks and playgrounds in MI and NV. There was only one place where I could not use it because of very hot ground and that was in NV at Placerites. I had to go to a TDI PI machine due to heavy mineralization. The MXT has more than paid for itself many times over. I do not care to be digging slivers of gold that I can hardly see in my hand and be driven crazy by mineralization and hot rocks. I have seen the GMT do just that in many places in NV. BTW, the TDI is very underated as a coin machine in parks and on beaches.
