It was raining this morning and I thought to myself....."great, I'm not going to get to detect today". I was thinking this because I had a pretty full day ahead of me with commitments that I felt I had to keep, and was planning on detecting early in the morning. When the rain went away, I had about 2 hours till my first commitment and said to myself the soccer field is only 5 minutes away......Why not go anyway? I did, and the clouds did have a silver lining. I found a 1950 silver 25 centavo piece along with some clad coins. This got me stoked up and I wanted to stay and hunt all the rest of the day, but I didn't. Left the field and took care of the days business for a few hours, then found myself with about an hour of free time. The detector was still in my car and I again said to myself...."why not". I was close to my brother-in-laws home and decided to go there. The yard was small, I only had about 45 minutes to actually detect, he had already given me permission to detect his yard. After about 20 to 30 minutes.....ting ting, ting ting ting, silver at 5". Cut a plug and there it was, 1918 silver dime, a first for me! It looked really nice, considering how long it must have been in the dirt (I didn't do anything to it prior to taking the picture, other than washing it off with soap and water). It's not in very good condition grade wise, but it's still a gem to me! I love this hobby!
