I went out today for an hour and the very first signal I got was this beauty, she was down about 6 inches deep. Man I'll tell ya it took me every bit of 20 minuets to break her free from the frozen ground but the thought of giving up on it never crossed my mind. I'm surprised that I found an IH before I found a wheatie!!! I also found a few clad and some junk. I sure hope the weather warms up the ground soon!!! :icon_pirat:

Congrats on that nice looking indian cent. I've only found two ever but what a thrill they are to find. HH! -Garbageman

Super congrats TF
Was this in the woods? Ground frozen there now? if so, ugh... I was out a few days ago (Wednesday) and it was great although it was 20 degrees out. I suppose these last couple days and nights have frozen things. Was debating going out today, think I'll wait til Monday.

Again good start to the year

Yea sorry to say it was frozen out in the woods, you got to just keep chipping away to get to the target.

And again, you rock Kermit!

Only willing to brave te sledding hills myself and there just has not been the traffic there to warrant any serious swinging yet so it's only 75 cents in quarters so far.

Just not willin' to deal with chillin' just yet. Waiting for 40-ish and softer digging myself.

Awesome find! I'm going to get out for an hour or two tomorrow depending on how long I last the cold...hope to find something half that old!

Nice going bud!
Man that ones in gorgeous shape.
Mike

Nice IH! You have a knack for finding great first coins of the year.

Did you abandon the banjo music for an intro?? And is this the offical start to season 3?

Joe

Sweet oldie!!

Have yet to find ANY old coinage :tongue3:

Great first 2010 IH, Kermit. I tried to get out today and packed it up after 15 minutes as the ground was rock hard. Huge difference from my hunt on Monday which had perfect soil conditions. I hear Thursday may hit 40. Hopefully that should thaw out the ground enough to get a good hunt in next weekend.

CONGRATS ON A NICE IH !

Way to go on recovering that oldie.

That's commitment.
