My 1st silver from the ground -- and I found it without the metal detector

I'm shocked! When taking out the Christmas tree I found this poking out of the ground in a clump of dirt! There have been a series of hard freezes lately here in the Northeast United States. I guess this got pushed up out of the ground! I can't believe my first silver from the ground was found without my metal detector! This is a change from finding things in the Coinstar or CRH! I'm going to go swing the coil over that way to see if there is a coin spill later.

That's why so many metal detecting people have the hardest time not "eyeballing" the ground where ever they may be when not having a detector with them. You after awhile begin to develop the "EYE", we can't help ourselves.

Congrats on the silver Rosie and keeping your eyes peeled. I have found a few silver coins on the surface in my time. It pays to continually scan the surface EVERYWHERE we travel as blowing FEDERAL RESERVE NOTES are out there too. I say you need to clean your yard out my friend.
