That's some strange looking wood. Arte you sure it isn't the kind of material old distributor caps were made of?

Hello , OkieHillbillie here the thing is an object to plug into the top of the distributor where the coil wire goes in to make stronger fire . It was sold in the 50 and 60's 90% sure.

Okiehillbillies.

ignition condenser from a car....they are fun to charge up,then holler @ your buddy to think fast while tossing it at him.....then laughing your butt off when he catches it @ it shocks the piss out of him

Re: My 36th Hunt! Possible 50's spinning Top? You Decide

I think Okie has it right. It plugged into the top of the distributer where the coil wire
went then the coil wire plugged into it. It was to give a hotter spark to the engine
to make it run better and get better mileage. I'm not sure if it was ever proven to do so.

When I first saw it I thought it may have been a draydel (sic), but there are too many sides to it. :icon_scratch:

OkieHillbillie is 100% correct. It was used to make the spark hotter on older cars and trucks.
