An old trash can lid set up on my spare blocks at an angle to let the flint get the dirt washed off, I check them out for any working after, toss the can around to change the flakes around. Any flakes put here have been looked at once maybe twice already prior to put in the lid, but you never know.
The large rocks above are chunks of slate pulled out of the field, getting the dirt washed off.

That's a cool idea.

I also enjoy seeing the mix of materials you find. I assume a lot of the beige & pink is local material. I know you've found lots of points made from the the imported materials (Harrison Co, Flintridge, etc.) do you find many flakes of the material?

Do I find many Harrison County or Flintridge and other types?

Well I used to find more Harrison County back in the 80s and 90s than I do now. But lately
Flintridge, attica chert and coshocton have been more numerous in number.

The big chunk is a large hunk of Flintridge.

I found two large chunks the same day I found the high ridged three fourths groove axe last Sunday. I also recall finding flintridge, Harrison County and coshocton chips in the field. It was a pretty good field and I had high hopes for the field walking in and it did not let me down. I was thinking bannerstone but the high ridged three fourths groove axe was a good find.
