My buddy Matt and I always hunt the Amish farms here in Pennsylvania. Late one day as we came together in the field I asked if he had any success? "Just this" and he drops this into my hand.

I was blown away by its beauty and have admired it in his collection for years. Can you appreciate how flat it is on one side? The knapped side has a gritty diamond dust like mineral on it's hump that makes the grip so amazing. A true artists chipped this relic.

This is a shot of it sitting in a puddle in my driveway. I think it looks like a fast sports car! Any idea of it's type and age?

Matt became ill with Melanoma which eventually spread into his organs. Last month he called me over because he had something to tell me. He gave me all of the points that we found together and this was one of them.

This is a picture of Matt holding his point that I have shown here in the past as a well framed piece.

Last night Matt passed away and he was 43 years old. To say that I will miss him is an understatement. Though I am sure that he will be only several rows away when I get into the corn and tobacco fields next spring.

Thank you for looking.

Mark

Man am I sorry for your loss, as well as his family... It is a sweet artifact.... Again real sorry to hear about your buddy..... John

That is really a beautiful artifact. You are very lucky to have it, and to have had such a good hunting buddy. I am sorry to hear of the loss of your friend.

With sincere condolences, I am sorry to hear about the loss of your friend.

Nice looking uniface knife.

Hey Mark,

Sorry for the loss of you buddy. He will definitely be with you the next time you go hunting the fields as my grandfather and uncle always seem to be with me. Treasure the times you guys spent in the fields.

He gave you a sweeet uniface artifact! I would take the ones he gave you and put them together in a frame and maybe put a small brass name plate on the front with his name on it.

Take care man,

Brian

Mark, now he will always be with you, in your heart and your mind and on every hunt. Take care.

Wes

Friends like him do not come around often and you were lucky to have such a good hunting buddy. The picture of him with that arrowhead is priceless. He knew what to do with his finds when his time came. May you continue to have successful hunts and I am sorry for your loss.
That would be my best artifact too.

Regards,
Richard

Mark, im sorry to hear,
the awesome thing about finding points is that you usually can recall every one found, especially with one of your best friends.i can recall every point i have found and whom i was with at the time, even most of my brokes. put ur alls points you found together in a frame, that would be nice, and awesome uni tool, beautiful

Sorry about the loss of your buddy, Mark. I have had the same hunting buddy for over 20yrs and we still shout across the field when a exceptional piece is found. I cannot imagine! His leaving of his points to you is a tribute to your hunting together and your finds. He wanted to keep them with someone who appreciated them as much as you do. Cherish those memories man that is why he gave them to you. So you would always remember him. He was a true friend!!!....................GTP

So young, so sad. That just proves that you never know how long you have, so get out there and make the most of your life. Also, it shows you that the real finds in life are not made of stone but of friendships.
